Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT NEWS

PGA TOUR

Collin Morikawa dominated the Zozo, but he will not get to followup his win on the PGA for a couple of weeks in Mexico.

The next PGA Tour event will be the weekend after Halloween and a good field is expected to show up there including Morikawa, Scottie Scheffler, Tony Finau, and more.

LIV TOUR

After the team and individual championships that occurred the past two weeks, there is no LIV Tour event this coming weekend.

DP TOUR

The Qatar Masters will be held this weekend at the Doha golf club. This event has been won by golfers like Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, and Ernie Els. This is the final event of the regular season for the DP Tour and it is very important for many of the golfers in the field.

The top 116 players in the Race to Dubai will be safe to play on Tour again next year and this is the last chance for golfers to earn points towards that end.

Those that do not make it will either go back to qualifying school or play on the Challenger Tour.

LPGA TOUR

The Maybank Championship will take place this weekend at TPC Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where golfers like Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, and Albane Valenzuela will tee it up on Thursday.

It is not the most stacked field that you will find, but it is a great course and you can expect to see some really good golf.

Many people are looking at Nelly Korda as the favorite to win this weekend, and for good reason.

She is probably the best and most consistent golfer playing this weekend on the LPGA Tour.

GOLF NEWS

PGA Tour Pros to Get More Opportunities on DP Tour

PGA Tour golfers that finish between 126 and 200 in the FedEx Cup race will be offered full DP Tour membership starting next season.

Only 5 golfers per tournament will be allowed from this new category, but it does show a new cooperation between the 2 tours.

Adidas Provisional Full-Zip Rain Jacket

With the cold weather around the corner, the Adidas Provisional Full-Zip Rain Jacket is a great choice.

It is a larger fitting jacket that many, but it gives you a lot of room to operate and it gives you a lot of warmth for cold weather.

While it is not fully waterproof, it does repel water which is normally what golfers need.

GOLF BIZ

LIV Tour to Compete Against PGA Signature Events

The LIV Tour is taking more aggressive steps toward competing with the PGA.

Of the 14 events scheduled for the 2024 season, at least 3 of them will compete against Signature events like Pebble Beach, The Memorial, and The Travelers.

Another LIV event will take place at the same time as the Phoenix Open.
