⛳️ Dad Golf Joke...
play by the rules
Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Monday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:
TOURNAMENT RECAP
PGA TOUR
Sahith Theegala won the Fortinet Championship by 2 strokes over Kim and 4 strokes over Davis.
Our picks, Max Homa and Brendan Todd, played well.
Homa was going for a three-peat and ended up T7 while Todd ended in 6th place alone.
Theegala even bogeyed 18 and still won the tournament by 2.
It was a pretty dominant performance for the $1.5 million purse.
It was not the strongest PGA Tour field ever, and even paled in comparison to the European Tour event this past weekend, but a win is a win and 500 FedEx points is 500 FedEx points.
LIV TOUR
There was no LIV Tour tournament this past weekend.
DP TOUR
Ryan Fox won the European Tour event this past weekend.
The New Zealander entered the final day of the tournament down by 3 shots and finished the day with the championship.
When he triple-bogeyed no. 3, it looked like there was no way he was coming back, especially in a tournament featuring Rory, Rahm, Hovland, and Fleetwood.
Fox finished the back 9 in 31 and was 1 shot ahead of the field. Fox continues to play well on the DP Tour.
LPGA TOUR
There was no LPGA Tour event this past weekend.
GOLF FASHION
Oakley is more than just a sunglasses designer.
These pants stand out because of their comfort, fit, and performance on the course.
The fact that they look great is just icing on the cake.
These golf pants only come in a few colors and one fit, but the simplicity of the design is another thing that sets them apart.
They just feel good on the course and look great off of it.
DAD JOKE OF THE WEEK
Always Play By the Rules
Two friends were playing golf one day.
They decided that they would adhere strictly to the rules with no improving their lie, and after a few holes, one guy's ball landed on a cart path.
As he reached down to pick up his ball to get relief his friend said, "We agreed that we would not improve our lie."
No matter how much the first fellow tried to explain that he was entitled to this relief, the second fellow would not allow it.
So, the man went to the cart to get a club.
As he stood over the ball, he took a few practice swings, each time scraping the club on the pavement, taking out big chunks of blacktop and sending out lots of sparks!
Finally, after several practice swings, he took his shot. The ball took off and landed on the green about 6 feet from the pin.
"Great shot!" his friend exclaimed. "What club did you use?"
"YOUR 7-iron!" he replied.
Until Wednesday!
