...water on Mars!

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Monday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT RECAP

PGA TOUR

There was no tournament this past weekend, but all eyes on the Ryder Cup.

While there are no FedEx points at stake and no major championship up for grabs, the Ryder Cup is one of the most popular events on the calendar for players and fans alike.

The best of the best play in this tournament and this year is no exception.

Players can make a name for themselves with consistently good play at the Ryder Cup, and there is something different about playing for your country than playing for yourself.

LIV TOUR

Is Bryson DeChambeau back?

He won yesterday at the LIV event in Chicago and brought home more than $5 million total as his team won the event as well.

DeChambeau, a few years ago, was kind of a breath of fresh air for the PGA Tour.

In a game where everyone was pretty much doing the same thing, DeChambeau was different.

He approached the game differently, went after holes aggressively, and pushed the speed and distance envelope as far as he could push it.

Then, seemingly all of a sudden and in conjunction with a perceived fight with Brooks Koepka, DeChambeau was gone.

Out of the news, never in contention, and seeming to waste his talent away.

He is a polarizing figure, but he is good for the sport just to have something a little different.

Winning an event like the one in Chicago could bring him back to the forefront of golf quickly.

DP TOUR

At the Open de France, while Jordan Smith folded like a lawn chair down the stretch, Ryo Hisatsune played impeccably on the final day to storm into the lead and win the championship.

Smith had a six-shot lead at one point on the final day just to be overtaken by Hisatsune and beaten by two strokes to finish T2.

LPGA TOUR

The Solheim Cup, the women’s version of the Ryder Cup, just finished up this past weekend in a 14-all tie.

Since the European squad won the 2021 Cup, they retain the championship with a tie.

In 2024, the Solheim Cup will be played again to get the tournament back on track for even numbered years after COVID slightly changed the schedule.

The U.S. team went up 4-0 on the first day of play and it looked like it might be an easy win for the Americans.

Friday and Saturday Four Ball competitions proved to be the deciding rounds for the Europeans, however, as they won both days 3-1.

On the final day of the tournament, all 12 women for both sides played a head-to-head match with the winner of the day taking home the Cup. T

hose matches were split evenly 6-6 resulting in a tie and retention of the Cup by the Europeans.

GOLF FASHION

While Fall is coming, if you live in the southern United States, shorts are still the way to go on the golf course, especially in Florida.

Polo Golf is one of the classic, traditional golf apparel designers and their products still look and feel great.

If you want a pair of comfortable and functional golf shorts that can be worn off the course as well, the Polo Golf brand is a great choice.

They are moderately priced, classically styled, and perfect for playing 18, or more.

A New Idea For NASA

As NASA continues to look for signs of water on Mars, we hear at Red Birdie Golf have an idea for them…

Build a golf course on Mars and send a team of weekend warriors up there to play.

If there is water on the planet, a golfer will always find it!
