Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT NEWS

PGA TOUR

This weekend is the precursor to the Ryder Cup.

After the majors and a couple of the other big PGA Tour events, the Ryder Cup is one of the most popular and well-known golf events in the world.

The Ryder Cup occurs every other year and pits Europe against America and features 24 of the best golfers in the world.

Since 1927, the Ryder Cup’s inaugural year, the U.S. team has 27 wins compared to 14 for the European squad.

Since 1985, Europe is 11-6-1 in Ryder Cups including 7-3 since 2000.

This year’s competition features stars for both teams and it should be a close contest.

LIV TOUR

While there is no PGA Tour event this weekend, the LIV Tour will be playing a tournament in Chicago.

Included in the field are major winners Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Charl Schwartzel, Patrick Reed and Sergio García.

The Pro-Am event features numerous celebrities and a field of really good golfers.

DP TOUR

The European Tour will be hosting the Open de France.

Billy Horschel and Tom Kim will join a pretty loaded field, especially for the weekend prior to the Ryder Cup.

Rory and Victor Perez are two of the favorites for this event.

LPGA TOUR

The LPGA equivalent of the Ryder Cup is called the Solheim Cup and will be played this weekend.

This year’s event will take place in Finca Cortesin, Spain.

The U.S. has a great chance to win the Solheim Cup again this year although there are some really good golfers on the other side as well.

This U.S. vs. Europe competition has been going on since 1990 on the women’s side. The U.S. holds a 9-7 edge over the Europeans.

Tech Takeover

As technology continues to improve across the board, golf is not impervious to its power.

AI technology, like Callaway Jailbreak, has revolutionized the way clubs and equipment is made.

Drivers are longer, faster, more forgiving, and straighter than ever.

Game improvement devices like swing simulators, launch monitors, and rangefinders continue to improve and help golfers.

The bottom line, do not be afraid to embrace the way technology can improve your swing and your score.
