⛳️ We missed Friday but we're back today!

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Monday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT RECAP

PGA TOUR

The Sanderson Farms Championship ended with a 5-player playoff. Luke List ended up winning the playoff on the first playoff hole by draining a 44-foot birdie putt.

Ben Griffin, Ludvig Aberg, Scott Stallings, and Henrick Norlander joined List in the playoff.

The five some went back to the tee box at 18 for the playoff, and each player landed their approach shot on the green.

List was 44 feet away and had the second longest putt of the group.

After knocking his putt home, the other four could not duplicate his score and List went home with the championship.

Our picks, Brandon Wu and Mark Hubbard did not get into the playoff, but they both played well.

The final five finished at -18, and Hubbard was T6 with a -17.

His final round 67 almost got him into contention.

Wu finished T62 after moving up 6 spots on Sunday by shooting a 71 in his final round.

Wu is still playing well in general, so look for a win or two some time in the 2024 season.

LIV TOUR

There was no LIV Tour Event this past weekend, the next one will take place this weekend.

DP TOUR

Matt Fitzpatrick, at the time of this writing, is leading the field at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

It has been raining all weekend, and play was suspended Sunday due to the inclement weather.

The third and final round of the tournament was supposed to be completed on Saturday at the Old Course, but the rain came down.

On Sunday the course was still waterlogged and the rain continued to fall.

Fitzpatrick was out to a nice lead and was playing really good golf, but the 2-day layoff, slower conditions, and continued rain could make the final round anybody’s to win…or to lose.

LPGA TOUR

Hyo Joo Kim went wire-to-wire at this year’s Ascendant LPGA Benefitting Volunteers of America Tournament to win the tournament by 4 strokes.

She finished the tournament Sunday with a 69 after starting the day with a 5-stroke lead.

She was never really challenged.

This was Kim’s 6th LPGA Tour win and she took home $270,000 taking her season earnings over the $2 million mark.

She has won at least one tournament on Tour every year for the past 3 years.

DAD JOKE OF THE WEEK

Keep Your Head Down

After a particularly poor round, a golfer spotted a lake as he walked despondently up the 18th.

He looked at his caddie and said, “I’ve played so badly all day, I think I’m going to drown myself in that lake.”

The caddie, quick as a flash, replied, “I’m not sure you could keep your head down that long.”
