⛳️ How Much For a Ball Marker?

Dad Joke Warning!

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Monday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT RECAP

PGA TOUR

Ludvig Aberg is playing as well right now as anyone else in the world.

Aberg is just 24, and as early as 6 months ago, he was still a student at Texas Tech.

The past 6 months for Aberg have been a whirlwind that culminated in his win at the RSM.

A win that included a 61-61 finish in the final 2 rounds to give him a -29 total and a 4-shot win.

The sky is the limit for Aberg.

Our picks, Russell Henley and Webb Simpson, had quite different experiences at the RSM.

Henley had one of the best last rounds of the tournament at -8 and finished T13 for the event.

Simpson, on the other hand, did not move out of the second round after missing the cut and not playing well at all.

Henley continues to play well and should find himself at or near the top of a few leaderboards this year.

LIV TOUR

Check back for LIV Tour updates in 2024 when the Tour starts up again.

DP TOUR

Nicolai Hojgaard ended up winning the DP World Tour Championship although Rory McIlory ended up as the overall “Race to Dubai” winner.

Hojgaard birdied the 13th, and then birdied the rest of the holes on the final round for 5 consecutive and a 3-shot swing.

He overtook Viktor Hovland and held off Tommy Fleetwood for the win.

Jon Rahm finished in 5th place and looked like he was rounding back into form for the upcoming PGA season.

There were too many great players teeing it up this weekend to pick just one, but the Tour superstars showed up and all played well.

Hovland had a real chance to win the tournament had Hojgaard not gotten so hot on the final 5 holes.

Rory played well too, but he already had the $3 million purse wrapped up and did not even have to play to win the “Race to Dubai.”

LPGA TOUR

The LPGA season-ending CME Group Championship this past weekend was won by Amy Yang.

Yang’s first win on American soil on the LPGA Tour, her first 4 wins all came in Asia, could not have come at a better time, at least from a financial perspective.

She took home $2 million for the win, tying the highest prize money award ever on the LPGA.

Yang trailed by 3 shots after 6 holes on Sunday, but she came back to beat Nasa Hatakoa with great shot-making and pressure putting.

Lilia Vu, our pick to win the tournament, finished Sunday with a 65 and came in 4th.

She is still the best player in the world and has a chance to win every time she walks out on the course.

Look for a few more wins next season for Vu.

GOLF FASHION

A family owned and run business since the outset, Redvanly golf shirts are created and designed for athlete’s and golfers today.

With a great combination of comfort, performance, and style, it seems like every year Redvanly golf shirts improve and grow in popularity.

Redvanly clothing while not inexpensive, are great for on and off the course, and especially for younger golfers and professionals.

PGA Tour players like Lee Westwood, Taylor Moore, Denny McCarthy, Henrik Stenson, and others wear Redvanly when they compete, and that same style and comfort is available for you.

If you are looking for a traditional cut, feel, and design, Redvanly is not for you.

On the other hand, if modern styles and extreme athletic comfort are what you want in a golf shirt, Redvanly may be worth a shot.

DAD JOKE OF THE WEEK

How Much for a Ball Marker?

A Golfer walks into the pro shop at the local course and asks the golf pro if they sell ball markers.

The golf pro says, "Yes, they are just $1.00 each. "

The guy gives the golf pro a dollar and says he'll take one.

The golf pro opens the register, puts the dollar in the tray and with a big smile hands the guy a quarter.
