⛳️ Peek at the Callaway Paradym Series

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT NEWS

PGA TOUR

Max Homa will be going for a three-peat this weekend at the Fortinet Championship, but most of the world’s best golfers will not be competing in Napa, California.

Homa will be joined by Justin Thomas and not much else inside the top-10 rankings.

Most of the best golfers will be preparing for the Ryder Cup which will be played two weeks after the Fortinet with a PGA Tour bye in between.

As mentioned before, Homa will be going for a three-peat and he has looked great every time he has played here.

Our pick for the tournament, of course, has to be Max Homa. How could you pick anyone else?

He has dominated this course in the past and there is nothing to suggest he will not do it again.

If Homa struggles, turn your eyes to Chez Reavie and see how he does. These types of tournaments are difficult to choose, but these two guys have a great shot to win it all.

TOUR NEWS

Ryder Cup

After taking what will amount to more than a month off from professional golf, the American Ryder Cup Team will face the European Ryder Cup Team.

The European Tour, however, has continued with the Irish Open finishing last weekend and two more events being played leading up to the Ryder Cup.

The BMW PGA Championship for the DP Tour this weekend has a much stronger field than the PGA Tour’s Fortinet.

Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson stated that he was not concerned about competitive rust for his players, but after more than a month away from competition, he should maybe start worrying now.

NEW GOLF GEAR

Callaway Paradym

The Paradym X is a forgiving, long golf club that is easy to hit and launches high at contact.

The club features updated Jailbreak technology, which consists of two steel bars behind the clubface that connect the sole and crown.

This technology can increase ball speed and distance, even on off-center hits. This is a great club for beginners and high handicappers, but will give any player a great option for longer approach shots.

The Paradym uses enough carbon in its construction to save 20g of weight that engineers can then place in strategic areas on the club for higher swing speeds and steeper launch angles.

Callaway makes a great driver, and the Paradym is the newest in a long line of good clubs.

GOLF BIZ

LIV and PGA

As far as golf business goes, the continued integration of LIV with the PGA is one of the more intriguing storylines.

LIV exposed the Tour for keeping more than its share of the profits, and then joined the PGA almost directly after exposing its weaknesses.

There are some real challenging issues to resolve, but the business of golf is still ,and always will be, the quality of play on the course.

The combination of LIV players with PGA Tour players will provide ample opportunity to ensure the two sides continue to get along.

After all, they need each other for vastly different things and ideas.
