⛳️ Ping G430 Mini Review

more forgiving than the G425?

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Friday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

FRIDAY GOLF TIP

What To Work On This Winter

For many people reading this newsletter, the climate you face each winter makes it impossible for you to get out on the course much.

For me, being from Florida, it is oftentimes more comfortable in December than it is in July.

Here are 2 things to work on this winter if the weather makes it impossible to travel.

  1. Putt, Putt, and Putt Some More. A golf simulator may be out of reach and you may not have room to take full swings in your house, but a putting mat is small, cheap, and very easy to get a hold of.

  2. Ball Position. You can work on where you position the golf ball without even taking a swing. It may not sound as fun as a simulator, but it will definitely help improve your game, especially if you can watch yourself in the mirror while practicing.

COURSE OF THE WEEK

Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic

With three Pete Dye designed golf courses along with multiple other amenities, this is an incredible golf resort.

With winter starting to creep in across the states, the Dominican Republic is a perfect place to go to get out of the cold and onto the golf course…every day.

Seven of the most beautiful holes in the world hug the coast of the island, and the sea breeze can add a lot to the challenge of the course.

After renovations, the course plays at 7,350 very challenging and breathtaking yards.

NEW GEAR MINI REVIEW

The G425 Max was considered one of the most forgiving drivers in golf, and the G430 Max keeps that incredible forgiveness with a little more distance and better sound and feel.

The G430 Max has superb variable-thickness and good structural qualities that transfers max energy at impact giving you a little extra stability and ball speed.

The ultra thin titanium face is hotter and produces more ball speed than ever before, and the structure of the face reduces curvature as it moves down to the sole which gives you a lot more distance and less spin if you hit low on the club face.

The G425 Max was known for its forgiveness, and Ping has capitalized on that forgiveness by adding distance and low spin features.

There is also a rear tungsten weight that is adjustable to help cater the driver to each individual’s particular swing.

Pros

  • The extra large head sits square at address and looks great next to the golf ball.

  • It improves on the Ping G425 Max, one of the most forgiving drivers of last season, adding some extra distance without losing any of the forgiveness.

  • Produces a very low spin rate so that the ball flies straight and long.

  • The variable face thickness gives you a lot of extra energy transfer and if you hit the ball low on the face you still get a high and straight flight.

Cons

  • Not as good for golfers fighting a severe slice as other drivers on the list.

  • Not as long as some of the other drivers on this list.

Until Monday!
