⛳️ PXG Gen 6 Hybrids Mini Review

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Friday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

FRIDAY GOLF TIP

43% of the Game

Putting is roughly 43% of the game of golf for most players.

That means, from a level of proportionality, golfers should spend 43% of their time working on the flagstick rather than on the driving range launching their driver.

If you are playing golf to improve your score, your putter is where you should turn.

COURSE OF THE WEEK

Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club

This Greg Norman golf course is almost as breathtaking as the Sea of Cortez that it overlooks.

Each of the three 9-hole courses are championship level layouts and this is one of the most popular golf destinations in the country.

At more than 3,500 yards, the Norman Course is maybe the most popular and includes more than 400 feet in elevation change.

The Nicklaus Course is slightly longer with two oceanfront holes.

Maybe the best part of the experience is that there is always a place close by to purchase a taco while you are playing as there are two comfort stations on each of the 9-hole tracks.

NEW GEAR MINI REVIEW

PXG hybrids are designed to provide golfers with a high level of forgiveness and versatility on the golf course.

These clubs feature large, oversized heads with a low and deep center of gravity for increased stability and a high launch angle.

The hybrid's face is made of high-strength steel and features PXG's proprietary Precision Weighting System, which allows for precise adjustment of the club's weight to optimize performance.

The sole of the club is also designed with a unique signature rib pattern that helps to reduce and/or improve turf interaction.

The PXG hybrid also features a variable face design with a thin, flexible face that promotes faster ball speeds and increased distance, even on off-center hits.

The club's adjustable hosel allows golfers to fine-tune the loft and lie to their individual swing characteristics and preferences.

Pros

  • The oversized head and low center of gravity of the club can help provide a high level of forgiveness on off-center hits.

  • The club's variable face design and thin, flexible face can help promote faster ball speeds and increased distance.

  • The adjustable hosel and weighting system allow golfers to fine-tune the club to their individual swing characteristics and preferences.

  • A low and deep center of gravity for increased stability and a high launch angle.

Cons

  • PXG clubs are known for their premium price tag, and this hybrid is one of the more expensive out there.

  • A slightly heavier club than most hybrids, it can slow down your swing speed and especially if you are already a moderate to slow swinger.

Until Monday!
