⛳️ Rahm-bo to LIV?

🤯 A $600 million dollar deal?!?! 🤯

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Monday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

TOURNAMENT RECAP

PGA TOUR

The Hero World Challenge is a different type of golf tournament. For one thing, the field is only 20 golfers deep, and for another, Tiger played for the first time since the Masters.

Tiger played well for his condition and finished 18 in a very talented field.

The best golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler, won the tournament by 3 strokes giving him his 3rd of the season and this 7th overall PGA Tour win.

His first three rounds of 69-66-65 put him in the lead going into Sunday and he didn’t look back.

Our picks, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa, finished 3rd and 7th respectively.

Neither player really challenged for the win, but they both played well and they both should expect to see themselves on the top of a leaderboards as 2024 rolls around.

LIV TOUR

There is no tournament to recap, but there are rumors swirling on the potential signing of a new superstar to join the LIV Tour stable.

Sources are again saying that Jon Rahm is close to signing a $600 million deal that includes a $300 million signing bonus, team equity, and the chance to captain one of the LIV Golf teams.

Rahm has made a little over $50 million since joining the PGA Tour in 2016.

The reported payday would significantly eclipse his career earnings with a signature.

DP TOUR

Dean Burmester won the South African Open this past weekend and after winning the Joburg Open the week before Bermester is officially on a roll.

He started the final day yesterday 2 shots off the lead, but not for long. He ended up with a 3-stroke victory after a final round with 6 birdies and 2 bogeys.

He barely made it to the weekend after shooting a 74 on Friday.

He was battling illness and fatigue and it looked like he would either have to withdraw or miss the cut.

He did neither and ended up coming back for a big win.

Marco Penge, our pick to win it all, finished T12 while our second pick, bomber Wilco Nienaber, finished at the exact same number and T12.

LPGA TOUR

The LPGA was off, but stay tuned to learn about the upcoming tournament that combines teams of LPGA and PGA golfers together for a common goal.

The tournament is much different than anything else out there and should be a lot of fun to watch.

GOLF FASHION

The FootJoy Flex XP is comfortable, functional, and stylish enough to wear on or off the course.

It looks like a normal sneaker and has great cushioning for a golf shoe without losing the stability needed for the course.

The bottom of the shoe keeps you from slipping no matter how hard you swing as it is one of the best spineless shoes for keeping your feet under you.

With multiple colors available and a great, modern design, the FootJoy Flex is a great option for the golf course.

DAD JOKE OF THE WEEK

It’s My Second Shot

It was a sunny Saturday morning, and Murray was beginning his pre-shot routine, visualizing his upcoming shot when a voice came over the clubhouse loudspeaker.

"Would the gentleman on the Ladies tee back up to the men's tee, please!"

Murray was still deep in his routine, seemingly oblivious to the interruption.

Again the announcement, "Would the MAN on the WOMEN'S tee, kindly back up to the men's tee!"

Murray had had enough.

He broke his stance, lowered his driver back to the ground and shouted, "Would the announcer in the clubhouse kindly be quiet and let me play my second shot?"
