⛳️ TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver Review...

Is it worth the cost?

Hey fellow golfer, welcome to the Friday edition of the Red Birdie Golf newsletter, here’s what we got for you today:

Friday Golf Tip

How Hitting Your Driver Is Like Throwing An Uppercut

For many right-handed golfers, their right shoulders rotate out towards the ball like they are throwing a hook in a boxing ring.

For more power, just like in boxing, an uppercut motion would help.

A drill to help turn your hook into an uppercut is, while holding an iron on your trail shoulder with your arms in an “X” covering the club.

Take a normal golf stance with the iron on your back shoulder and rotate your upper body back while the grip of the iron on your lead shoulder points down toward the ball on the ground.

Once your lead shoulder in place, the most important part of the drill takes place.

Your should rotate your body and replace the your lead shoulder with your trail shoulder trying to find the exact same position.

Course of the Week

Cabot Cliffs: Nova Scotia, Canada

This is a par-72 course that is beautiful, different, and long.

There are 6 par-5s which means there are a lot of scoring opportunities as well.

The topography includes everything from Lahinch-like sand dunes to Pebble Beach-type cliffs with a few Scottish highlands in between.

In addition to the 6 par-5s, there are also 6 par-3s.

There is one interesting stretch where 3 of 4 holes are par-5s.

It is one of the most diverse and beautiful courses you will find, just make sure you go in the summer because the temperature drops pretty quickly.

New Gear Mini Review

TaylorMade has consistently produced some of the best driver technology over the past 20 years, and the Stealth 2 is a great example of that.

This driver is long, straight, and consistent.

TaylorMade drivers have featured “Twist Face” technology for years now, and the Stealth 2 has the newest iteration.

Twist Face technology allows you to hit your ball straight and long, even on mishits.

The look of the driver is a little different than past TaylorMades as the head is somewhat rounded.

This makes the driver look bigger and easier to hit at setup.

Just like in years past, TaylorMade has created a technologically advanced, easy to hit driver that golfers of any skill level could benefit from using.

Pros

  • This driver is easy to launch, especially for beginners, but there are also loft options that make it ideal for any level of golfer.

  • The Twist Face technology and inverted cone variable face thickness make this one of the most forgiving drivers on the market.

  • It is easy to shape from left to right.

  • It looks as good as it performs and instills confidence in any golfer standing in the tee box.

Cons

  • It is one of the more expensive new drivers on the market.

  • If you draw the ball naturally, you have to be careful about getting too much left to right movement.

Until Monday!
